My name is Rae Pleasant and I am a 30-something, African-American North Texas resident. I hold a BA in Art History and a BFA in Dance Performance from Southern Methodist University. Later, I traveled to Auckland, New Zealand for inspiration and to further my post-graduate education with a post-graduate Honors degree in Art History.

I have been employed in top tier museums and libraries across the country in departments from conservation to curatorial. The triumphs and struggles of being an early contributor to diversifying academia and the arts inspired me to create this independent platform for art, writing, and curation. I have grown from a recreational artist to a community artist, displaying my work in libraries and local businesses while outreaching to youth.
