I visited the Black Wall Street Alliance in the historic Greenwood District in Tulsa, OK to see the ongoing installations about the history of Black Tulsa. My grandfather is featured in an installation as a business owner in the Greenwood District. Museum admission and merch raises funds for business education and outreach. The installation in the front room is selfie friendly and looks like an old building come to life. The second half of the installation is formed like a bustling street that walks you through time from the 1900s to the present with photos and authentic period objects and clothing. It’s surreal to know my family members lived ordinary lives while making history. All photos by me unless otherwise stated.
Have a Pleasant Day
