I have worn glasses since the 1st grade and my literacy was significantly boosted afterwards. It was a revelation to see very tiny details in nature and art clearly. My parents were in the sciences, so I associated glasses with being very smart as a child which helped whenever I felt a little different. My current pair of glasses is a vintage pair of 1950s cat-eyes and I love classic shapes. My earlier pair was round and when glasses were invented, it was the first shape available.
