Due to personal and financial reasons, I had to withdraw from three art shows in a row. It was devastating because community art projects are one of the joys of my life. Please see my CV for the updates on which shows had to move forward without me. As an artist with a day job, my wages from work directly fund my art practice and I have seen fluctuations in my income for many years for many reasons.
I do not tolerate bullying, sexual harassment, sabotage, racism, ageism, heightism or the like on a job. 500,000 Black women have been boxed out of the workplace since 2025 and I see a correlation. Money and personal boundaries are a hard thing to juggle, and when passion projects are at stake, it becomes even more complicated. Survival comes first, but I need art to survive. With all that said, I hope to look ahead and regroup with these organizations when I have a moment of stability. Until then, I aim to keep creating through storms and sunshine.
Have a Pleasant Day!
